About Image Boats
Image Boats is fast becoming the leader in the hardtop alloy boat market. In just
six years we have quickly carved a niche in the
strong aluminium
market. Our range starts from the entry level 5.8m
cuddy to the 10m off shore hardtop.
Image Boats owner, Dean Wilkes has been building boats for over 22
years, completing his apprenticeship
in Australia on a 100m aluminium power cat. Some
years later he returned to his South Island home
town
and spent six years working for iconic pontoon
boat builders, Stabicraft. This was
followed by a further six years at Gough
Brothers building commercial craft, including
the two big aluminium ferries that service
Stewart Island. After 18 months
with Kiwi-Kraft, Dean figured it was time to do
his own thing and founded Image Boats. The Invercargill-based firm now
employs seven people on the factory floor and
has completed 63 hulls to date.
All our boats are made to order and therefore each
one is unique in its own right to accommodate owners'
individual requirements.
The design and craftsmanship speaks volumes and
winning the "Best Aluminium Boat" award at the Otago
Boat Show 2002 in Dunedin confirms just that. |
