Boat Show Highlights Positives
Southland-based boat manufacturers and retailers
say they are positive about the future of their
industry after enjoying a successful Boat Show in
Invercargill at the weekend.
More than 9000 boat enthusiasts passed through the
Stadium Southland doors on Saturday and yesterday
for the sixth biennial show.
Boat Show manager Peter Dawson said the 2003 show
was the biggest by far.
Image Boats owner Dean Wilkes sold three boats on
Saturday and fielded many inquiries.
Mr Wilkes said the local market was strong and
Southland buyers made up 98 percent of Image Boats’
customers.
